By putting advanced tools like the 4K Microscope in the hands of this next generation of scientists today, we are helping to prepare them - and our community - for a future we’ve only begun to imagine.

Where We Are

Today, we’re bringing access to five schools in Hamilton County: Brainerd High, East Hamilton Middle-High, Hixson High, The Howard School and Red Bank High. Courses range from Scientific Methods to AP Biology to Environmental Science. Students at the STEM School now serve as lab assistants, having gone through a rigorous selection process in order to help their peers at other schools experience the microscope as they did with USC.

Educators, lead by STEM’s inimitable Shannon Seigle, continue to develop and share curricula and project-based learning ideas.
